The central plot revolves around the disappearance of Sandra Jones, a sixth-grade social studies teacher. “The Neighbor,” listed as the third book in the series, has multiple viewpoints, one of which is D.D.’s. However, in both books she is really a minor character and the story is not told from her perspective. According to the publisher “Alone” and “Hide” are the first two books in the series. is a tough talking, yet fashionable, Boston police sergeant. These most recent books, “Love You More” and “Catch Me” are part of the D.D. She’s really only been on the radar the past two years when her most recent books rocketed up the New York Times bestseller list, and received rave reviews in the press. Basically, I’ve always loved anything that begins with a dark and stormy night and ends with a dead body.” In an interview on her website she says the suspense genre choose her as she grew up reading “Stephen King, John Saul, and V.C. Her current books focus more on the suspense angle than romance. Lisa Garder started writing young, and originally wrote romantic suspense books. Another person who does this is Lisa Scottoline with the books that revolve around the lawyers at Bennie Rosato’s law firm in Philadelphia. She also does something that I enjoy immensely when other authors do it – having characters from other reappear as a secondary character in another book – so you get to catch up with them but don’t have to read another big book about them.

For me she embodies everything I look for in an author: her stories are fast paced, she has strong female characters, and she writes a series that shows the growth of a character over time.
